From the local newspaper on December 18, 1935: Recently, a teacher from a school in Petrozavodsk received an anonymous letter. The text was surrounded by a mourning frame: “We suggest that on December 11, at 11 o'clock in the evening, bring and put under the wooden walkways that are laid to your house near the bridge over a ditch 300 rubles. We inform you that you will pay with your life for reporting this to the police. And in general, no one should know about this. If you do all this, then no one will touch you. If not, beware.” The teacher nevertheless brought a letter to the officers of the criminal investigation department. On the appointed day and hour, a young man appeared at the walkway. He turned out to be a teacher of the educational program of Gorono Peter Ivanov. He needed the money to buy a new suit.
