It's All Right

It’s All Right is an immersive 8-channel audiovisual installation that explores the complex emotions surrounding the climate crisis. Taking inspiration from The Beatles’ Here Comes the Sun, the repeated phrases “here comes the sun” and “it’s all right” dissolve through fragmentation and repetition, shifting from comfort to unease. This transformation reflects humanity’s conflicted response to environmental collapse: a mix of hope, denial, and growing anxiety.

The installation uses a layered collage methodology, weaving together historical climate events, AI-generated weather forecasts, speculative futures, influencer monologues, and field recordings, alongside speeches from climate activists and politicians. These diverse elements create a fragmented sensory environment that mirrors the chaotic and contradictory nature of public climate discourse.

Visually and sonically, the work embraces disruption and estrangement, guiding viewers through a journey from initial calm to overwhelming sensory overload. The glowing sun at the center shifts from a symbol of life and renewal into a relentless force, embodying the tension between reassurance and alarm.

Rather than offering answers, It’s All Right invites audiences to confront discomfort, reflect on their own complicity, and question the meaning behind familiar reassurances in a world increasingly defined by ecological crisis.

The work will premiere at the 13th Schlossmediale Festival at Schloss Werdenberg in Switzerland, taking place from 19–28 June 2025.
